Oppent.
More than a way.
Oppent’s new identity takes inspiration from the Oppent “of yesterday” to honour the experience and history of the company.
But there is also new symbolism, the dynamism of the new Logo synonymous with evolution.
The new lines of the logo, broken up by curved and sinuous cuts, brings the classic typeface into a more contemporary dimension, not so much in style but in semantic terms. Dynamism, openness, vision and a focus on the future: the new aesthetic lines that characterise the brand are steeped in timeless values.
The new symbol that enriches the brand image encapsulates the values of the company but is also a graphical and symbolic transposition of Oppent’s core products. In fact, the two Oppent “parentheses” symbolise the brand’s openness to innovation and futurable scenarios. A stylised “O” that maintains the same proportions as the lettering of the logo, it symbolises the Mobile Robots of the Oppent fleet and their movement.
The tagline “More than a way” speaks of a company that is not tied to a single approach, going beyond the idea that there is only one way - also physical - of reaching a goal. The concept of “way” becomes a metaphor that is open to different interpretations: the path to take to achieve progress, the method to adopt and the route of the Oppent Mobile Robots.
More than history.
A heritage of values.
Respect, Courage, Dedication.
These are our company’s founding values.
For Oppent, ‘respect’ is a way of being and feeling that has become part of the corporate culture. It is a way of acting that shapes the everyday activities of our company.
An approach that has enabled us to develop an excellent reputation because the market knows that, out of respect for our customers and the commitments we make to them, we maintain our promises at all costs.
When Ettore Beretta left a secure job to found the company in 1960, all he had was a single drafting table, a typewriter and the unconditional support of his wife Marisa.
With their dedication to the customer, adoption of cutting-edge solutions and courage to innovate, these same values are now shared by the second generation (Alberto and Marco).
More than R&D.
The sure fire way to progress.
Knowledge as our yardstick. Innovation our modus operandi.
All of our projects are unique because the needs of our customers are unique. And to meet their requirements we always design and develop cutting-edge new ideas, never settling for existing solutions.
Our work can be measured in terms of knowledge. Knowledge evolves continuously with the advancement of technology, enabling us to turn a standard project into a unique one.
An R&D team is dedicated to exploring leading-edge technologies and dialoguing with the research teams of our partners and customers to come up with innovative applications that meet their production quality goals.
More than a Company.
A Family.
The knowledge-based company.
In a company founded on knowledge there are no employees, just people who have the skills to develop the business from within.
The organisation is horizontal and relationships are not hierarchical but based on trust, experience and knowledge.
Everyone can grow on the basis of merit and passion thanks to their knowledge, skills, ability to delegate and capacity for communication.
In fact, most of our people have worked with us for many years, growing with the company thanks to the challenges that we take on and the solutions we develop to overcome them.
Customers know that the people who developed their project and understand their needs are available at all times, ready to support them in the process of continuous change.
1960
In the years of the Italian economic miracle, Oppent – Organizzazione Posta Pneumatica e Nastri Trasportatori – is born from the passion of Ettore Beretta, who immediately secures a number of high-profile customers: Acciaierie Falck request the creation of a pneumatic tube plant to transport casting samples to the central lab.
1970-1985
Oppent consolidates its reputation in industry and expands into the banking sector, offering solutions for the safe handling of documents and money using conveyor belts and pneumatic tubes. Oppent systems are also requested by the most prestigious libraries: systems are created for the libraries of the Bank of Italy, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
1987-1993
With the arrival of Alberto Beretta, son of the founder, the process of handing over the company reins to the next generation begins, leading to the rapid and significant modernisation of the business: in just a few years Oppent becomes a leader in the automation sector. It consolidates its position with Alberto’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer and the arrival of Marco, Ettore’s other son, who will cover various roles before becoming Sales Director.
1993-2003
The company makes a strategic decision to begin in-house production in order to better respond to the needs of the major retail sector. Beginning with Metro and Rinascente, systems are developed for the automatic handling of money in points of sale, leading to interest from major retailers like Esselunga, Bennet, Carrefour, Coop, Unes and Pam. In 1995 Oppent is awarded the contract for the development of a pneumatic tube transport system for the S. Paolo Hospital of Savona.
2003
Oppent recognises the opportunities offered by the Spanish market and in 2003 opens a branch in Madrid, which over the years will grow in importance, particularly in the health sector.
2004-2009
Oppent systems are among the most popular in the healthcare sector for the transport of analyses, blood bags and drugs. We expand our range becoming distributors of Mobile Robots, a technology for the automatic handling of meals, laundry, waste and office supplies. We create innovative and sustainable systems for the management of urban waste (Automatic Waste System) and the collection and transportation of hospital laundry and waste (Linen & Waste System), and are appointed by the Services Centre of the Bank of Italy to manage its paper waste.
2010
Oppent secures important contracts: Ca’ Granda Niguarda Hospital in Milan, Italy and Hospital Universitari De Sant Joan de Reus in Spain. We design the first residential urban waste management system for the Eurosky Tower in Rome. This involves the automated transportation of sorted waste from the floors to the collection point with benefits for residents, urban welfare and the environment.
2012
With a new strategic decision, we begin producing Mobile Robots with the ambition of creating solutions that can be adapted to customer requirements. In May 2012 we put our first robot on the floor with a joystick guide test which shows how the idea of dual steering is the right path to follow. In the second test we transform the machine into a self-driving robot. These few metres covered on the floor of our plant mark the start of our adventure in the world of Mobile Robots, a journey that will see us become a global leader.
2013
The first ECART with steel front gets to work in Guido Salvini Hospital of Garbagnate Milanese (with a fleet of 11 vehicles) and Alba-Bra Hospital in Cuneo (with a fleet of 13 vehicles).
2014-2015
In 2014-15 we design a special vehicle for the analysis laboratory of Ospedale Maggiore in Bologna for the transportation of test tubes: this represents a variation on the previous models because of the reduced dimensions of the onsite lift. In Spain, the Hospital of Vigo introduces a fleet of 6 ECART, while in Italy the Hospital of Asti replaces its old system with our fleet of 9 vehicles with dual electric steering.
2016
We enter the Arab world to provide further impetus to a major and fast-growing market.
2016
We develop the first systems in China for various leading hospitals in the provinces of Nanjing and Dalian.
2017
EROLLER is produced for an Automotive company: it is the first omnidirectional vehicle which thanks to two roller conveyors transports products from the end of the line to the testing area and then onto the packaging area (or takes them back to the line if the test is negative).
2018
Thanks to their exceptional adaptability, our fleets are requested by leading hospitals in Switzerland, France, Sweden and Turkey.
2019-2020
ONE 1 is specifically created for a prestigious woollen mill in Italy: used to move large rolls of fabric from the end of the line to the warehouse, this special vehicle guarantees maximum precision and safety for human traffic.
2021
Our smart suspension solution for omnidirectional vehicles is recognised and protected by a specific patent.
2021
Oppent comes to Germany, notable for its extensive use of Mobile Robots and more especially the growing production of these vehicles.
2022
To transport a cancer treatment particle accelerator weighing 1200 kg without exceeding a total weight of 1500 kg, we create a fleet of four special vehicles with 12 wheels to distribute the pressure on the necessary routes.
2023
The new French branch stems from Oppent’s partnership with PGES (Perception & GuidancE Systems), launched in 2017 with the aim of designing and producing logistics automation solutions in France, Switzerland and Belgium. After 5 years of fruitful and efficient collaboration, Oppent and PGES decide to take the next step in the integration of the two teams and the technical solutions, creating a new branch that will be completely dedicated to logistics automation solutions.
