2012 thus kicked off confirming Oppent’s leading role in transport automation. Over the past seven months, Oppent has been entrusted with the optimisation of the internal logistics for no less than five hospitals, Naples’ Cardarelli and Ivrea’s hospital being the latest commissioned.
As of today, more than 70 healthcare facilities have chosen Oppent for rationalising their internal logistic fluxes, while effectively managing emergencies and achieving economic benefits.
The most used Oppent technologies are the Hospital Pneumatic Tube System, the pneumatic tube solution devoted to the automatic handling of test analysis samples, blood bags and drugs in an automatic way, and EVOcart™, the Oppent-branded Automated Guided Vehicle.
Differently from other solutions, the Oppent pneumatic tube system distinctiveness is the speed control system, which is key to biological material transport because it safeguard the integrity of blood components from haemolysis.
Instead, EVOcart™ is the transport system that uses self-guided vehicles for the automated handling of carts devoted to linen, drugs or other materials transport. The robot has a maximum weight capacity of 500 Kg, have a programmable speed and the navigation is done by laser scanning and does not require the embedding of equipment on the floor, walls or ceiling.
