Coop Italia is a national consortium founded in 1947 which aims to guarantee consumers’ cooperatives better purchase conditions and warranties. In 1975, by means of decentralization, management passed to the cooperatives in order to improve retail store service and increase the efficiency of the logistics facilities.
The addition of hypermarkets, the growing market share of Coop branded products, an eco-healthy oriented attitude and a greater integration between sale and purchasing policies have led Coop to a leadership position in the Italian mass-market retail industry.
